Kohl’s

Associate Designer and Technical Developer, Women’s Sweaters

New York, NY | 2015–2019

From Intern, to Assistant, to Associate - Kohl’s shaped the foundation of my knitwear career. Part of an in-house knitwear vendor team, I absorbed a “boot camp” of knitwear knowledge. Working with all 8 celebrity New York based brands we developed everything from 16gg jacquard ponchos to 3gg Intarsia pullovers.

Key Achievements

  • Only NYC associate to implement use of the Shima Seiki system. Designed and tested BMP artwork, supporting rapid custom jacquard artwork iteration cycles across all brands.

  • Developed proto types from scratch, learning the fundamentals of sweater spec proportions without the traditional assistance of a technical design team.

  • Managed a library of over 300 yarn qualities. Presenting quarterly stitch and yarn presentations, acting as an internal domestic vendor source for the brand directors to pull from.
